Oil Tank Removal

The City of Vancouver (By-laws No. 8191 sec 4.10.3, and No. 8093 sec. 5.3) require that tanks which will not be reused or have been out of service for two years shall be removed. Removing an underground oil tank from a residential or commercial area is a difficult operation. Abandonment is common. Out-of-service tanks can be dangerous and groundwater may have become contaminated. Stormworks does everything necessary for the safe, secure and simple removal of your oil tank including:

  • Pumping and disposing of contaminated waste
  • Cleaning and physically removing of the tank
  • Handling city inspections (where required)
  • Backfilling the excavation in an environmentally-friendly manner
  • Cleaning up debris
  • Providing a tank removal certificate
